About [Edit]
The Tulane Green Club is our campus’s primary student-run organization catering to student interest and involvement in the environment. Funded by our Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and mentored by the Office of Environmental Affairs, the Environmental Studies program, and the Center for Bioenvironmental Research, the Green Club serves an as outlet to the environmental communities of Tulane, New Orleans, and Louisiana. The Green Club also coordinates programs with other Tulane departments and organizations. Our primary focus is service and education; we are dedicated to making our university a more environmentally educated and responsible institution.
The Green Club office is located on the second floor of Alcee Fortier Hall, and serves also as the Environmental Studies Student Center. We hold general meetings monthly, however both the office and Alcee Fortier are always available as a relaxing location where students can come to study, browse through education and career related environmental resources, or just sit and socialize.
The Green Club has many ongoing projects including everything from a Campus Cats project aiming to control the feral cats population on campus, to a weekly shuttle to Whole Foods Market. Last year, our members went out and planted trees in the community, went to discussions about environmental problems in Louisiana, and taught elementary school children about earth day. Our diverse group of students works through several standing club committees to accomplish a wide variety of tasks. Currently, our committees include:

Every year our committees change with interest and leadership. If you see a committee or project here that interests you, get in touch and get involved. If you do not see one you would like to see, let us know; we have the resources, experience, connect ions and enthusiasm to start up and sustain a new project - and you can get some valuable leadership, organizing and service experience. The opportunities in the Green Club are diverse, and past members and officers have gone to national conferences, been awarded prestigious national and local scholarships, have been accepted into excellent innovative (and traditional) graduate programs, and have landed quality, meaningful jobs as a result of their work with the Green Club.
If you would like to get involved with the Green Club, you can do so in a number of ways. We almost always have committee chair positions open, but our committee members are also very active in club business. If you would like to hear more about the events that go on around the Tulane Campus you can subscribe to GreenServe, our weekly electronic newsletter. For specific questions, you can call or e-mail the Green Club office. Finally, the office is open Tu/Th 2:00-5:00 pm. We love new members!
