Our Mission
Earth Care`s mission is to build the awareness, knowledge, and commitment in youth necessary to create a healthy, sustainable future. We do this through sustainability education in high schools, youth conferences, and youth organizing around sustainable community initiatives. Our approach is based on the recognition that sustainability can only be achieved by linking issues of equitable economics, social justice, and the environment all infused with a multicultural awareness.
We develop young visionary leaders capable of creating an abundant and sustainable world. These visionary leaders will make choices that will improve their relationship to the environment, one another and ultimately the world.
We educate youth to understand the local and global connections between human and natural systems.
Our Vision
In order to have lasting positive change, we must look at the bigger picture, the true, underlying cause of contemporary problems – the way we as a global culture are living. ECI empowers youth to build their society in a new way that works ecologically, socially and economically. Although we believe that we still must repair the damage our culture has done, ECI is focused on creating a way of living and a realistic plan for a diverse and healthy future for all living beings.
We envision a world where humans live in harmony with the earth; where human systems and natural systems work together and improve the quality of life for all living things. We envision a world where environmentally-literate young people lead based on a culture of sustainable abundance that drives the day-to-day decisions they make in business, politics and their personal lives.
Earth Care International plants the “seeds of sustainability" in young people. We engage teenagers in a new way of thinking, rather than telling them what to think. This way of thinking leads them to explore ways of living on this planet which gives humans an infinite future. Earth Care International educates young leaders to create a systems that work with and learn from nature`s example. Our programs take youth beyond awareness into action and creation.
