NGOs with valuable messages but few resources, and filmmakers seeking to tell the international stories ignored by the news media. We envision a global media environment in which audiences are frequently exposed to stories of positive social change and the poor find a voice through video.

We bring the tool of video to grassroots NGOs

We develop models of video production that show a demonstrable impact on poverty

We encourage international NGOs to budget video production into development projects

Bringing videos and video production capacity to grassroots NGOs

This is our core activity. Our online method of matching filmmakers to NGOs is a simple and very low-cost model to rapidly spread the technology and the messages. Our goal is twenty projects in 2005.

Working only with NGOs that know how they want video to impact their work
Monitoring and evaluating each project at midpoint, endpoint, and one year later
Offering follow up training to every NGO that needs it
Recruiting expert advisors for each area of video we work in: documentary film; documentation; ethnographic film; video for empowerment; advocacy; fundraising; community awareness and needs assessment
