About  [Edit]

The Business & Engineering Activists Network, BEAN for short, is created with the goal of fostering lasting professional and personal connections between people of diverse backgrounds while contributing to the community in large through volunteering and social work. We believe that a professional organization should do more than foster business connections. It should draw together exceptional individuals with business strong aspirations but also are keenly aware of the social responsibilities that come with financial and professional success. We believe that by combining exceptional people with exceptional goals, we can achieve exceptional results.

Cornerstones:

The three corner stones of BEAN are leadership, friendship, and service, and all services provided by BEAN will strive to fulfill these three noble sentiments.

Leadership - [BEAN Project]

BEAN project is a long-term project headed by a dedicated committee. Some planned projects include providing mentoring to businesses started by college students, education programs about business, engineering, and activism for middle school students, etc.

Friendship - [BEAN Night]

BEAN night is a networking event for members to gather and to simply brainstorm in a relaxed environment. The event would be loosely structured to provide idea forum, mock business scenarios, public speaking opportunities, etc.

Service - [BEAN Day]

BEAN day is a single day of community service such as cleaning up a local park, visit retirement home, or helping an elementary school upgrade their computer network. The BEAN days will allow busy professionals who are unable to commit to a long term volunteering project the opportunity to still contribute.
