About [Edit]
CARF is a foundation dedicated to helping street kids. The problem of street kids is a global problem, but especially associated with big cities in the South. However, street kids represent an increasing problem also for cities in the North.

Street kids are related to poverty and the culture flourishes in societies with poor public social structure. Any hope for care and consideration is absent in the fight for survival and the kids grow up in a culture of violence, crime and drug abuse.
For more than ten years, CARF has been working in this area and is about to develop a model to prevent, rehabilitate and protect these street kids. Our goal is to continue to develop this field of competence and transfer it to other cultures struggling with street kids. This can also be capitalised by the North in the areas of youth crime and drug abuse.
CARF's vision for the future is a realistic one based on past experience as well as work on a daily basis among street kids in São Paolo. CARF as a foundation represents people who first and foremost are dedicated to doing something about the social problem street kids represent.
Both in the South and in the North, CARF's work is based on two things: «The aestethic aspect» and «Proximity and Mutuality».
The Aestethic aspect is an essential part of the work both in the South and in the North. Both in the surroundings as well as in the activities, aestethics plays an important part.
Proximity and mutuality is carefully adapted to the projects by developing models based on a family structure. The street kids are to be brought back to their biological families or taken into foster care.
Likewise, proximity and mutuality is incorporated into the work members, schools and kindergardens by providing them with direct contact with the center in São Paulo.
As the activities in São Paulo increases in line with the new activity center, a new direct-contact-system will be developed.
Our Vision
- to create a worthy solution for left-behind street kids, in order to let them live in freedom and with care, in peaceful and safe environments. Our work is locally based with a family structure as a foundation.
- to develop a model that can be transferred to others who work with left-behind kids in Brazil as well as other places.
- to be a point of reference for others within this line of work.
A fundamental part of the work is cultural development and artistic expressions against violence. Through architecture, art and craftworks, the projects are "coloured". This also applies for activities in the North, where information and activites directed towards members and children is based on an aesthetic aspect.
