About [Edit]
Background: ICAR, previously known as the Barbados Rastafari Working Committee, was established to network with local, regional and international Restafari communities. It also serves as the secretariat for the Caribbean Rastafari Organization [CRO], which is a grouping of Rastafari from some nine member countries of the Eastern Caribbean.
Objectives: The purpose of ICAR is to centralize Rastafari into the New Millennium around the theme "Reparations and Repatriation".
Activities: ICAR addresses issues of discrimination and human rights issues affecting the Ratafari community; has hosted various conferences in Barbados; at the regional level, it meets twice yearly to review, plan, organize and strengthen the regional Rastafi community; and it has made links with groups in South Africa concerned with reparations and repatriation.
