Mission Statement
1. To conserve the endemic Sumatran orangutan [pongo abelii] and its native habitat.
2. To promote public awareness of, and participation in, conservation strategies for the Sumatran orangutan through campaigns, community education and global communication.
The S.O.S endeavour:
3. To support NGOs PanEco, Frankfurt Zoological Society and Indonesian conservation authorities with the new re-introduction programme for Sumatran orangutans.
4. To collaborate with Indonesian conservationists in the establishment and running of the Orangutan Information Centre
5. To assist the Government-run Bohorok Orangutan Centre in the care of ex-captive orangutans.
6. To fundraise to support our goals.
