About [Edit]
The Daintree Tropical Rainforest is an international treasure. This is where our world’s most ancient tropical rainforest meets the spectacular Great Barrier Reef. "Where the Rainforest meets the Reef" is more than just a catchphrase to describe the incredible experience of a visit to the Daintree - it is an environmental truth. These two systems are interlocked. Our work to save the Daintree Tropical Rainforest from urbanization protects these two irreplaceable gems of Australia`s far northeast Coral Coast.
We seek to slow the degeneration of our global rainforest and reef resources and address the negative impact of urbanization on our threatened species and ancient cultures. Our goals is to purchase and steward the threatened heart of the Daintree Tropical Rainforest, home to hundreds of endangered species and hub of the intricately diverse 300,000 acre rainforest and reef habitats.
We have been working together for over 15 years with the Australian Tropical Research Foundation to study and protect the Daintree Tropical Rainforest. Conservation of the Daintree Rainforest and all of its potential for discovery of new medicines and species is our topmost priority. Together we have:
*reforested acres of land in the Daintree Tropical Rainforest,
*surveyed the plants and animals,
*mapped the territories and movements of endangered species, and
*received numerous grants to study the impact of urbanization on the health and stability of the Daintree Tropical Rainforest
