* Publishes regular newsletters and provides information

* Opposes sales of weapons,

especially in contravention of codes of conduct and where use is for internal repression

* Is developing a database on arms transfers in the Asia -Pacific region

* Supports campaigns, e.g. Banning Landmines and Cluster Bombs



The objectives of ACAAT are to :



* Stop Australian exports of armaments and arms components, and promote constructive technologies

* Activate public and diplomatic pressure against the international arms trade

* Stop Australia hosting and participating in arms exhibitions or fairs

* Promote alternative strategies for defence and non-violent resolution of conflicts
