About  [Edit]

International trade is constantly changing under forces of specialization, innovation, market growth and international investments. Through these dynamic forces, trade can strongly influence the prosperity of a country and reinforce a vigorous cycle of economic growth, job creation and productivity increase.

In the new trends of participating in the global economy, Albania needs to adopt new perspectives and new tools, which grow out of impartial analysis and assessments and research work. We need to know very simply, what works and why. Then we need to apply it. Our economy needs to take advantage of the new opportunities derived by globalization rather than feel victimized by it.

As an independent nonpartisan organization, ACIT’s primary purpose is to improve the quality of trade policies and to increase the public benefit from trade opportunities by providing thoughtful, objective analyses of existing trade policies and new trade policy proposals.

As such, ACIT has four specific program responsibilities:

* To provide independent appraisals of public policies and trade treaties and formulate strategic options for public debate

* To provide timely and impartial analyses and recommendations of trade related topics to Government and Parliament

* To provide public access to trade research and information

* To provide timely and impartial information to private sector representative organizations on trade related options.
