About  [Edit]

The concept of EcoLink is built on the participatory approach, encouraging organizations and individuals to participate in developing topic trees and populating EcoLink's "Resource Portals" and blogs with various types of information.

The EcoLink portal is a comprehensive resource for objective, science-based information about the environment. It is a means for the local activists, environmental experts, institutions and scientific community to come together to produce the free, expert-driven information resource on the environment, and to engage civil society in a public dialogue on the role of environmental issues in human affairs. EcoLink focuses on trends that shape our immediate region environmentally, socially and economically.

Much of the environmental information on the internet is fragmented or buried. By cooperating with highly regarded organizations, institutions, statistical agencies and experts, EcoLink strives to provide a wide range of accurate data, statistical, graphic, and analytical information. Our goal is to assist local and regional government and residents of Southern California in making responsible decisions that shape our environment.

Our users range from individuals who influence environmental policy—whether in governments, academia, corporations, think-tanks, or other civil society groups—to educators, students, and the public at large.

We invite you to explore EcoLink and encourage you to contribute to the ever growing pool of data.
