About  [Edit]

Ecological Arts is a community based non-profit working with individuals, home, public and private schools, and community organizations, to teach hands-on art projects that spawn from sustainable living practices.
Children and adults are taught a myriad of art forms from specific communities around the world. Through the work of their own hands, individuals begin to understand the steps and processes behind the creation of beautiful, sustainable art, and are brought into contact with global communities.
Ecological Arts also works to promote and increase understanding of Marin County's diverse bio-regions. Individuals learn to create functional, sacred art forms, through a process of relating and tending to the wild places within our communities. Native plants are gathered for dying local wool, participants learn the locations of these plants within our environment, and how to sustain and increase their survival through appropriate harvesting methods.
