About  [Edit]

The Women Donors Network (WDN), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a philanthropic community for women who refuse to accept the status quo. WDN strives to create a strong community, deliver timely and relevant educational opportunities, and catalyze philanthropic action to build the movement for progressive social and environmental change. It implements its mission by convening an expanding group of members (currently numbering 155) who share the organization’s vision and values to build relationships, exchange knowledge, and challenge each other to work collaboratively for greater impact, both programmatically and financially. From supporting voter registration efforts, to funding international programs assisting women's quests for economic independence, WDN unites powerful, visionary women who are committed to effecting lasting fundamental change.

About WDN

The Women Donors Network is a national organization of more than 100 women that supports and encourages members to use their wealth and influence in the service of progressive philanthropy to create social change.

Through a dynamic peer community, WDN creates an open, welcoming environment where women can explore all aspects of philanthropic practice — from personal development and professional training, to strategies for long-term targeted giving.

What We Do

WDN advances the causes of peace, human rights and women's rights, seeking justice in every realm: social, political, economic and environmental. As we strive for a more equitable distribution of wealth and power, we help create a world of caring, balance and mutual respect.

Our annual conference, ongoing member circles and regional events build relationships between members, promote creative collaborations and influence decision making.

Since our founding in 1991, we've grown to our current size of over 150 women philanthropists who each donate $25K or more a year. The total of our members' charitable gifts rivals America's largest foundations!

Our members come to us for:

  • Community
  • Education
  • Action
