About  [Edit]

Agros exists to restore hope and opportunity to the world`s poor. Our vision is to see rural poor families own agricultural land, attain economic self-sufficiency, realize their God-given potential, and pass on to future generations the values and resources that enable them to flourish.

Agros works to help rural poor families in developing countries break free from poverty. We do this by helping the rural poor to acquire land, build village infrastructure, develop as individuals, create strong community organizations, and develop economic capacity.

* Acquiring Land: We purchase land on behalf of rural poor families and give them legal title when they pay back the cost of the land. We do this so that families may have a basic means to sustain themselves and their children.

* Building Village Infrastructure: We help families and villages build necessary infrastructure such as houses, community centers, access roads, electrical connections, irrigation and potable water systems. We do this so that families may have a healthy and safe environment in which to live.

* Developing as Individuals: We help individuals realize their God-given potential through basic health, hygiene and nutrition; elementary education for children; literacy for adults; critical thinking and analysis; and specialized training in agriculture and small business management. We do this so that individuals may respect themselves as intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual beings created in God’s image.

* Creating Strong Community Organizations: We facilitate the creation and strengthening of village organizations and the development of local leadership so that communities can feel empowered and direct their own development.

* Developing Economic Capacity: We help rural poor families become economically self-sustaining through training in appropriate agricultural technologies, small business development services, affordable credit, and money and debt management education. We do this so that families break free from poverty and dependency, and build lasting economic security for themselves and their children.
