About [Edit]
The South Dallas Cultural Center is an Afrocentric center that provides instruction and enrichment in the performing, literary, media, and visual arts. The program emphasizes the African contribution to world culture.
The 18,000 square foot facility features a 100-seat black box theater; a visual arts gallery; studios for dance, 2 & 3 dimensional arts, & photography; a 48 track digital recording studio; and a video production studio with AVID & Adobe Premiere editing systems. The Center’s program places a high value on works that explore contemporary issues facing the African world community; particularly those that seek to inform the audience about the interrelatedness of people of color.
