About [Edit]
Objectives
On a farm of 327 acres, 23 km south of Harare, Zimbabwe - we are a small group of people who have decided to create a learning village aimed at the creation of locally rooted solutions to community self-reliance challenges. A starting assumption is that people already know how to work in creative and self-sufficient ways, and that the challenge is to help them access that knowledge - and the self-confidence to act on it - generating concrete results in the process.
Kufunda Village is a part of a global network of centres organized by diverse leaders who are moving their dreams of an alternative into organised forms. They all work from values of ecological sustainability, respect for human dignity and justice, community-wide participation, and other principles of life-affirming leadership.
Mission Statement
To work towards the development of self-reliant creative communities through the development of the self-reliance and creativity of individuals/groups of those communities.
To work towards recovering, developing and living practices, initiatives and social systems that work in accordance with Life, with all its constituent freedoms, fullness, values and essence.
