Background: The Centro de Derechos Humanos "Fray Francisco de Vitoria" is a humanitarian institution founded in November 1984 by the Dominicans of Santiago of Mexico Province.
Objectives: It works to defend and promote the fundamental human rights of the poor and to raise the consciousness of university students.
Activities: The Center maintains an information archive and provides legal aid and training in the area of human rights. Through its publication, Justicia y Paz, the Center denounces violations of human rights and analyzes the human rights situation in Central America and the Caribbean.
