The Gander River Management Association (GRMA) is non profit, Communitty Based Watershed Management Group dedicated to the wise management of the "Mighty" Gander River.
The Association is governed by a volunteer board of directors representing a broad base of organizations who have a vested interest in the mangement of the Gander River.
GRMA was formed in 1994 after many interested citizen groups within the Gander River watershed realized that many areas of the river desperatley need management improvements.
The mission of the organization is to work towards:
We Believe that our wilderness heritage was not handed down by our forefathers; instead we are borrowing it for a short while from our children.
We must strive to protect and preserve this asset so that our own legacy to future generations becomes one of respect and admiration.
We will protect and preserve open, equal, and affordable access for our people, and strive to manage our wilderness resources in a sustanable manner while generating meaningful recreational and economical opportunities for our people.
We believe that the stakeholders living around this resources are the best mangers of the resource.
