About  [Edit]

SPARK (Sharing and Promotion of Awareness and Regional Knowledge) is a joint programme, launched in January 2000 to promote community-based approaches to Natural Resource Management (NRM) and sustainable livelihoods in the

Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

The programme’s aim is to increase the livelihood security of poor rural communities in the ASEAN region (especially Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand), through improved Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM).

SPARK, Sharing and Promotion of Awareness and Regional Knowledge, is a five-year programme, launched in January 2000, to promote community-based approaches to natural resource management and sustainable livelihoods in the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

SPARK comprises an integrated package of complementary components to support existing organisations and communities implementing community-based natural resource management (CBNRM) activities in these countries. It aims to strengthen the ability of local communities to learn from the good practices and indigenous knowledge of others within the region by providing opportunities for increased documentation of these practices and the sharing of these at the national and regional levels.
