About  [Edit]

WHO AND WHAT ARE THE STUDENT CHAPTER OF ISIE?

Representing the next generation of industrial ecologists
Today's students will be the industrial ecologists of the future. Our active involvement now ensures a future generation of professionals who support the Society. Students already represent a considerable membership of ISIE. ISIE students come from all over the world, including Norway, Japan, China, the United States, Switzerland, the Netherlands and many more...

Student involvement with industrial ecology
Students are actively and directly involved with work in the field of industrial ecology. The projects that students work on are innovative and on the cutting edge of the field. Dissertations are available on the ISIE main Homepage.

A bit of history
The "formal" ISIE Student Chapter was initiated at the Gordon Conference in June 2002, thanks to the interest of the students, and the support of many - including John Ehrenfeld, David Allen, etc. Due to the fact that students in the field of IE are dispersed around the world, there is a need for us to have a 'home' for communication among our peers. We need to form a community for ourselves, understand how broad of a field IE is by learning from each other's research, collaborate together on papers, hold discussions on topics, and very importantly, have a place that provides networking.
