Marin Casual Carpool
helps Marin residents to:
Minimize transportation costs
Decrease commute times
and
Reduce their impact on the environment
Drivers and riders connect in the morning and afternoons to commute together. It's "casual" because rides are not scheduled ahead of time. All parties drive or ride according to their own variable schedule. At least two riders commute with each driver allowing use of the carpool lane and toll-free bridge crossing.
With sufficient participation, drivers or riders rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for a car to fill. No money is exchanged, yet all parties save money and time. Plus, there are 2 less cars on the road for every casual carpool created significantly reducing traffic and the impact on the environment.
CircleCenter's "Designing a New World" alumni are spearheading an effort to make CASUAL CARPOOLING a viable option for residents of Marin County. As a starting point, we are surveying residents of Fairfax, San Anselmo, and West Marin to determine your interest and needs.
If you live in West Marin, please visit our website and take the survey: MarinCarpool.com
