About [Edit]
Mission:
"Hong Kong Marine Conservation Society is an independent, non-profit organization of volunteers who recognize the severe threats to the health of our local water from many sources, and are determined to do something about it".
This organisation brings together around 100 volunteers dedicated to the preservation of marine life. In Hong Kong they conduct surveys of marine habitats and the threats caused to them by coastal pollution, carry out environmental impact assessments and hold an annual ‘Ocean for our Children’ exhibition. Their work has been instrumental in persuading the Hong Kong government to adopt several regulations regarding sewage and waste disposal, and fishing practices.
