AIDS Leadership Foothills-area Alliance, commonly referred to as ALFA, is a non-profit organization that provides programs and services to prevent the spread of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). ALFA also provides support and advocacy to individuals living with HIV/AIDS through an extensive resource of programs, services, and collaborations with other organizations, institutions, and governments.
ALFA serves the eight county area of Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Watauga, and Wilkes. It is supported primarily through government and private grants, and the donations of individuals, groups, and corporate sponsors in our area.
