About [Edit]
This Web site is managed by Australian Fauna Care (inc), which was set up specifically to create and maintain this website on behalf of Australian wildlife care groups.
We were able to set up this facility with the generous assistance of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (International Fund for Animal Welfare IFAW).
Our guiding principles are:
Directory
The idea of this is to have a central directory of information on Australian native animals care and rescue or welfare organisations. We hope that organisations will let us know when their details change so that this can remain an up-to-date, reliable resource. We also hope Wildlife organisations will use the directory as THE source for locating related links. As we grow, we hope to provide alternate ways of searching through the database.
News page
A resource available to all organisations, to broadcast any news of general interest. We will try to update this page with news articles that are relevant / helpful to the welfare of Australian fauna.
Resources page(s)
We provide some resources volunteered from various native animal groups. This may include instructions, research, formulas and so on. We may also include links to specific sites which already have interesting and useful resources. (Before being published, al resources will be checked by a recognised authority in the field - and will note who is the approving authority).
Our guiding principles are:
- We will remain an independent, not-for-profit association
- We will promote cooperation between groups whose main objective is the welfare of native Australian wildlife
- Any 'resources' will be approved by an appropriate authority before being published on this site
- To avoid duplication, where an appropriate resource already exists, we prefer to link to it rather than reproduce it
- We will be guided by animal welfare, and conservation principles
