About [Edit]
The Aspen Institute is an international non-profit organization dedicated to informed dialogue and inquiry on issues of global concern. Founded in 1950, it has pursued its mission of fostering enlightened leadership through seminars, policy studies and fellowship programs.
The Aspen Institute offers programs in Aspen throughout the year that are open to the public. These community programs include free lectures; seminars for adults and high school students; book discussions; contemporary foreign policy discussions; and special events. Fees for these events are kept low to accommodate a diverse audience. There are scholarships available for most programs.
The Aspen Institute holds a variety of programs for its neighbors in the Aspen, Co., area. During the summer, attend our free lecture series -- or in the winter, enroll in one of the community seminars. We also invite you to visit the Aspen Meadows campus. Have a drink on the deck at the Bandar Center, with one of the best views in town. Stop by after a concert or lecture to relax and talk in our new bar and restaurant, Platos. Eat lunch or dinner at the beautiful Meadows restaurant or view the contemporary art exhibits in the art gallery. Take a minute to explore these programs and more -- you'll find several exciting opportunities, even chances to volunteer. We invite you to participate, and to refresh your mind, body, and spirit.
