To conserve, protect and restore forest ecosystems, clean water, and biological diversity in the Klamath-Siskiyou Bioregion.
To accomplish this mission, Headwaters uses the following strategies:
Monitor timber sales and other federal agency management projects to ensure government accountability and compliance with existing laws.
Advocate for permanent protection of the remaining wild forestlands in the Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion.
Participate in agency planning processes, such as management planning processes, watershed analyses and roads analyses, to ensure that consideration of ecological principles is included in agency planning documents.
Educate and organize people to encourage community-based leadership and participation in the planning process for federally managed lands
Develop viable forest management alternatives for use by federal agencies, state legislatures, and Congress
