About
The Asia Society Washington Center provides a forum in the nation's capital for diplomats, Members of Congress, government officials, journalists, scholars, artists, business executives and others to exchange views on a wide variety of subjects concerning Asia.
The Washington Center conducts more than fifty public programs per year on contemporary affairs, trade and investment, arts and culture. Programs are designed to allow time for questions from the audience and interaction among all those attending. Events include breakfasts with members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives, briefings by American ambassadors to Asian and Pacific countries, conferences on contemporary affairs, meetings on social and economic development topics, and cultural events co-hosted with Asian embassies.
A nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization, the Society provides a forum for building awareness of the more than thirty countries broadly defined as the Asia-Pacific region - the area from Japan to Iran, and from Central Asia to New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Through art exhibitions and performances, films, lectures, seminars and conferences, publications and assistance to the media, and materials and programs for students and teachers, the Asia Society presents the uniqueness and diversity of Asia.
Asia Society is the leading global organization working to strengthen relationships and promote understanding among the people, leaders, and institutions of Asia and the United States.
We seek to enhance dialogue, encourage creative expression, and generate new ideas across the fields of policy, business, education, arts, and culture.
