About  [Edit]

Med_2barter

LETS is an improved barter system, a new kind of money.

Typically, barter enables people to get what they need without cash, but is limited in that the two parties involved must be in need of what the other has to offer. In a LETS system credits can be spent anywhere in the network, and can be earned by offering goods or services to anyone in the network.

LETS Membership is open to everyone and includes businesses, invididuals and non-profit organizations. Members have an account, much like a bank account, which keeps track of trade in local currency.

In the local tradion of "making fish" we've called our currency COD, "Cash on Delivery." The value of one COD represents one Canadian dollar.
