Eco Club Action is a youth development project operating in the slum of Nairobi. The organization was established in 2006 as a community based youth serving project with an aim of tapping and consolidating skills and talents existing among the youths in the community for the common benefit of the slum dwellers. The wisdom behind this reasoning was that, a lot of untapped resources existed in the communities and if acknowledged and harnessed,would be useful in bringing the much needed positive development change under the concept 'Community problems need community has a lot of potential in terms of talents and skills and if members are empowered and mobilized to create positive change,they will eventually raise their standards of living.



Mission of the organization


To promote,implement and celebrate ongoing programs that bring together people of every race,religion,nationality and culture to stand as one family under God,building a world of lasting peace by strengthening God-centered marriages and families,fostering a culture of peace and service



Objectives of the organization


1.Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger;
2.Achieve universal primary education;
3.Promote gender equality and empower women;
4.Reduce child mortality;
5.Improve maternal health;
6.Combat HIV/AIDS,malaria and other diseases;
7.Ensure environmental sustainability,and
8.Develop a global partnership for development



Goals of the organization



  1. Waste Management- TO TRAIN SLUM RESIDENT ON PRACTICAL AND AFFORDABLE WAYS OF ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT.
  2. Health problem- To promote health standards in the slum regions through health education a wariness creation and training of youths on needs to preserver environment.
  3. Poor Environment- To improve primary health through a cleaner up environment campaign.
  4. Poverty- To promote a focus on bottom –up participatory approaches to slum environment planning and emphases on local action in consideration of gender issues and reduction of poverty in slum areas.
  5. Lack of awareness- To spread ecological a wariness as well as understanding of its far-reaching importance to the people and the society.
  6. - To address the needs of slum environmental planning and development through training a wariness creation and initiation of community based action.

- To promote the use of safe and low cost waste disposal technologies with emphasis’s on the informal sector participation to promote environmental based income-generating income
