About [Edit]
HIV/AIDS:
FHI Namibia focuses on mitigating the impacts of HIV/AIDS through programs that target the workforce, youth, pregnant women, children orphaned and/or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS, and municipalities.
Youth:
With the USAID Mission and local partners, YouthNet is developing a Namibia country program focusing on faith-based activities and younger youth.
Our mission to improve lives worldwide through research, education, and services in family health.
Our Vision:
FHI is a dynamic organization working worldwide to address comprehensive health issues and their consequences in resource-poor settings.
FHI emphasizes the development of strategies to respond to the HIV/AIDS pandemic; other sexually transmitted infections; unintended pregnancies; and related reproductive health concerns of individuals and communities.
FHI works in partnership with vulnerable populations of diverse cultures, applying flexible programmatic public health approaches and building local capacity to address the most pressing health needs of individuals and communities.
FHI pursues partnerships in an entrepreneurial spirit, internally as well as with governments, foundations, NGO's, and businesses—in the United States and abroad—to respond to a changing environment for financing priority public health initiatives.
Our Values:
- Excellence in working to the highest standards of science, ethics, and operational performance
- Integrity in what we do and how we work
- Responsiveness to the needs of individuals, families, and communities, especially those in resource-poor settings
- Respect for cultural and social diversity, human rights, equity, and inclusion
- Dedication to the pursuit of FHI's goals through the accumulated wisdom and experience of a committed staff.
