About [Edit]
We are a group of people who have been working for human rights and peace in Burma since 1988. Members include Aung Myo Min, Ma. Nang Yin, Ko Shwe Myo Thant, Ko Zin Maung and Ma. Su Su Htet.
We are well organized and in constant communication with those inside
Burma. Our team members also have experience in responding to
human-itarian crises; for example after the devastating tsunami in 2004
we successfully directed assistan-ce to Burmese migrants in the
southern part of Thailand. We all will work on a voluntary-basis.Burma is currently receiving an unprecedented amount of press; however, such tremendous attention must do more than engender global condemnation. It must provoke action. While those of you on the outside continue to read about the atrocities being committed on the inside you may be asking yourselves how you channel your outrage constructively. The first thing to do is stay informed. It is incredibly important that the international community remain committed to understanding the situation. Furthermore, you can help by providing desperately needed resources. There are two ways in which your support will help sustain the efforts of the peaceful demonstrators inside Burma:
1. Humanitarian support
These funds will be used for essential supplies including
medicine, food, drinking water, and robes.
2. General support
These funds will be used not only for essential supplies, but
also for communication, networking and information
dissemination regarding the events in Burma.
Transparency
Transparency and accountability are of utmost concern and we guarantee that we will work to the best of our abilities. 100% of the funds you donate will reach the people who most need help inside Burma. None of these funds will be used to support violence or aggressive action of any kind. We will keep reliable records, along with payment vouchers and receipts for all money transferred to those inside Burma.
