ALGES provides programs ranging from physical therapy to mental health, community development, and employment in Chalatenango, the one of the poorest areas of El Salvador that saw intense conflict during the civil war. ALGES is a democratic union formed of 597 people affected by the war, and the Chalatenango branch is part of the national organization. The goal of ALGES is the rehabiliation and productive reintegration for all its members into society.
