About  [Edit]

Gifts In Kind International

Eliminating poverty is not a hopeless task at all. We just need to organize and mobilize the resources, will, and abundance of our society to serve the poor and needy.

Mission

Mission is to link donor resources to enhance, empower, and restore communities and people in need.

- We are the seventh-largest charity in America according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and we generated and placed more than $850 million in urgently needed new product donations last year.

- Gifts In Kind receives donations from thousands of large and small companies, including half of the Fortune 100 technology, retail, and consumer corporations. We distribute these donations to more than 150,000 community charities across the United States and throughout the world.

How We Operate

- We work with nearly half of the Fortune 100 technology, consumer, and retail product corporations and thousands of smaller companies to create, implement, and manage their product donation program. These partners donate a wide variety of new, critically needed products, including technology, education supplies, clothing and shoes, personal-care items, furniture, housewares, appliances, toys, and much more.

- We handle the logistics of product donations from corporate partners to community charities worldwide. Gifts In Kind can pick up these items anywhere in the corporate distribution and sales chain: from warehouses, stores, manufacturing plants, trade shows, and even catalog photo shoots. We then use our flexible, cost-efficient transportation and storage network to quickly move the products to the communities and people who need them the most. Our individual cash donors enable us to keep shipping and handling charges very low for recipient community charities.

- We then help corporations screen and select the community charities to receive their donations. Gifts In Kind has a network of 150,000 widely diverse, vetted community charities across the United States and throughout the world. These nonprofits, in turn, help millions of people in need...communities devastated by natural disasters, people with disabilities, children in hospitals, the families of U.S. soldiers, unemployed or underemployed adults and their children, students and educators in impoverished areas, abused women, and so many more people.

- We also ensure thorough accountability by regularly monitoring and reporting to corporate partners about who received their donations, how their contributions were used, and how the communities and individuals benefit.

- Gifts In Kind Canada™ is a registered charity in Canada that partners with companies wishing to donate newly manufactured products to Canadian charities. Through this partnership, Gifts In Kind Canada helps charities maximize their productivity, improve their bottom line, and more efficiently serve their clients by offering easy access to a wide range of donated goods. Established in the mid-90s, Gifts In Kind Canada has provided quality products and services to thousands of registered Canadian charities.

- Participating organizations serve all areas of need, including youth, the elderly and families in crisis, as well as the charitable sectors of housing, education, health care, environment, the arts and culture.
