The Mission of the Jackson Progressive is First and Foremost to Continually Remind Its Readers of Their Responsibility as Citizens, and

* to introduce and promote alternative points of view regarding the conduct of public business in the Jackson, Mississippi metropolitan area, and, to the extent that seems appropriate, in state, regional, national or world matters;

* to promote the fine arts and humanities in the Jackson Metro area and, as much as possible throughout the State of Mississippi;

* to inform its readers of news that is unlikely to be carried by the mainstream media;

* to provide a voice for writers and artists that have been ignored or neglected by traditional outlets;
