Introduction
Established in 1957 by a group of environmentally concerned people, National Parks Association of NSW is a non-government conservation group working together to protect the natural areas of NSW.NPA is a non-government conservation group working together to protect the natural areas of New South Wales.
NPA was formed in 1957 to lead a campaign calling for a new government body to manage natural areas throughout the State. The success of this campaign resulted in the National Parks and Wildlife Act of 1967 and the establishment of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
MISSION
National Parks Association of NSW seeks to protect and conserve the complete range and diversity of species, natural habitats, features and landscapes of New South Wales.NPA is a leading conservation campaign group that has existed since 1957 through the support of its members. In addition to bushwalks, you will be welcome to participate in a wide range of activities if you wish, including :
Specialised walks
* - come walking with the experts on specialised birdwatching, botany or even night walks;
Biodiversity Surveys
* - get involved in our regular biodiversity surveys. Learn something new whilst doing something valuable;
Bush Regeneration
* - help preserve local habitats;
Members Nights
* - meet new friends with similar interests to your own. Interesting guest speakers and regular slide nights. Free entry for members;
Campaigning
* - You can make a difference by getting involved with the issues which concern you. Let us show you how;
Volunteering
- opportunities available for people with some spare time to assist with office admin, fundraising, and promotion.
