About  [Edit]

FTCR is a non-profit, non-partisan consumer watchdog group. We fight corrupt corporations and crooked politicians every day.

The health of patients should come before the financial wealth of HMOs, drug companies and other health care corporations. FTCR fights to build a safer health care system that covers everyone by eliminating waste, fraud and profiteering.

FTCR fights in legislatures, courts and through the media to hold corporations and unresponsive businesses accountable.

Patients injured by an incompetent doctor, negligent hospital or a provider’s error deserve the right to justice and their day in court. The right to trial by jury is, after all, the 7th Amendment to the Constitution. But politicians, the insurance industry, and the medical lobby want to take that right away.

Protecting Against the Next Energy Crisis

To keep our society running, we need affordable electricity and gasoline. FTCR works hard to watch utilities, energy producers and oil companies and exposes manipulation of the electricity and oil markets.

FTCR's Legal Project attorneys advocate for consumers’ rights and seek to hold corporations and government officials accountable in the courts and before regulatory agencies. We specialize in the areas of insurance and health care reform, public official accountability, and billing and other service abuses by cell phone companies and other corporations. We also defend in the courts legislation and ballot initiatives that FTCR has sponsored.
