United Democratic Burmese Community (New Zealand) Inc. (UDBCNZ) was formed in November 2004 with a commitment to working, in cooperation with like-minded organisations locally and abroad, toward restoration of democracy in Burma.

- Ethnic groups from Burma, currently comprising Burman (Bamar), Karen (Kayin), Kayah (Karenni), Kachin, Chin, Arakan (Rakhine), Shan.
- Members of political parties such as National League for Democracy, and
- Activist groups with specific ideology such as Democracy Activists of New Zealand.
The community aims to:
- work toward restoration of democracy in our homeland Burma.
- work toward helping, through diverse approaches and venues, our fellow citizens who are struggling for social progress.
- support reconciliation of the people of Burma through tripartite dialogue (involving the representatives of ethnic nationalities, the democracy movement led by the National League for Democracy, and the military).
- promote understanding and cooperation among the various ethnic and religious groups in our Burmese community in New Zealand.
