Project Description:
WiserEarth is a publicly-accessible online database identifying the thousands of organizations throughout the world that address social justice, poverty, and the environment — in short, a sustainable world. This meta-map allows users of all cultures, ages and educational backgrounds to access and navigate the database with little computer training, as well as enables professional users to perform sophisticated and comprehensive research. Our aim is to support and empower activists, non-governmental organizations, academics, scientists, organizers and citizens by revealing, and assisting in integrating, the comprehensive network of social justice and environmental sustainability organizations.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work with our technical team.

This is a long-term contract position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about applying their skills and experience on a project that is trying to make a difference in the world. The work hours are flexible, provided that deliverable timelines are met.

Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, running tests, identifying, verifying, reports, regress bugs; perform integration, system, and regression tests at a white and black box level. Will be working closely with development to understand features, find defects and provide deep information to developers to resolve issues quickly. Develop test harness for different level of needs. Modify existing automation test cases to increase test coverage. Coordinate test and automation harness related work in between teams at different location.

Qualification:

+ Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent is a plus
+ Familiar with the software development/testing lifecycle.
+ 2+ years experience on automating test cases for Web-based applications, Software QA experience with a good understanding of QA methodology.
+ Good with SQL and Unix/Linux.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills, must be able to take initiative to get information, seek clarification, and elevate problems when necessary
+ Experience with Selenium test automation software a plus
