About

Sustainable Capitol Hill has won a $15,000 grant from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods to hold a neighborhood fair this summer.

"Imagine Capitol Hill" will be a one-day outdoor street event designed to inspire participants to imagine what Capitol Hill could be like as a more sustainable community. "Imagine Capitol Hill" will spotlight local businesses, musicians, artists, food producers, and education, celebrate current sustainable practices in the neighborhood, and showcase attainable action steps to moving the community towards sustainability. The fair will have interactive, hands-on activities such as a "green living kitchen", a clothing swap, craft projects using recycled materials, and neighborhood walks. "Imagine Capitol Hill" will be free and open to the public. The fair is scheduled for 20 July 2008 from 11am-4pm and will be held in proximity to the Broadway Farmers Market.
