THE ORGANIZATION:
Founded in 1985, Women's Funding Network (WFN) is a world-wide
membership of more than 126 women's and girls' funds. Our members
support the solutions of women and girls through local, national and
international grants. WFN advances this movement by supporting
members through innovative programs and capacity-building expertise.
Together, we are creating a safer and more secure world by investing
in women and girls.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Women's Funding Network is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic
person who is committed to gender equity and social justice. The
ideal candidate will have strong writing and research abilities. This
internship is a great opportunity to experience and learn about
nonprofit sector and partnerships, the grant proposal process, and
grants management within an international funding network.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-- · Research foundation and corporation prospects;
-- Create and update data base spreadsheets;
-- Assist Development Associate with administrative duties on
strategic projects;
-- Assist with writing letters and grant proposals to current and
prospective supporters;
-- Perform administrative duties such as mailings, organizing and
filing;
-- Support data entry activities using Raiser's Edge software (we
will train).
REQUIREMENTS:
-- Strong internet research skills;
-- Strong oral and written communication skills;
-- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Raiser's
Edge preferred, but not required;
-- Discrete handling of confidential information;
-- Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects;
-- Must be comfortable working in a busy office environment and
display excellent interpersonal skills.
Applicants must be receiving credit for internship hours from an
accredited college or university and able to work 10-20 hours per
week for a period of no less than three months. The Intern will
report to the Development Associate. This is an unpaid internship.
