Greenpeace is looking for a passionate and experienced individual to head our national global warming campaign. Scientists say we must act now to stop the worst effects of climate change and while solutions exist to solve global warming, the political will is lacking. Since 2006 the Greenpeace global warming campaign has been leading the charge to make sure that Congress takes significant action to stop global warming. Our team is growing to meet the needs of expanding Congressional district field work and to leverage that power into real action on Capitol Hill. We seek a Global Warming Campaign Director with demonstrated success in managing large campaigns, with legislative, field and on-line to on-the-ground components.

The  Global Warming Campaign Director will be responsible for directing and managing the US Global Warming Team, which has legislative, field and on-line to on-the-ground components. This position reports directly to the Deputy Campaigns Director. 

    In conjunction with the Deputy Campaigns Director, develop and ensure the effective implementation of a campaign plan to meet the national campaign objectives that support the long-term international goals.

     

    EXPERIENCE/ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

A minimum of 10 years experience in campaigning, with at least five years managing programs and staff.

Proven ability to work both independently and in close coordination with a team.

Well-rounded individual with ability to work with a variety of people and groups.

Proven experience in directing a project from conception to completion.

Commitment to non-violence as a means of affecting change.

Willing to relocate/travel if required.

 

Skills:

Organizational skills, including experience with successfully managing large, multi-faceted campaigns or projects.

Strong staff management instincts and coordination skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Media Saavy

Problem solving and strategy-development skills;

Proven leadership skills.
