Come join one of the fastest growing global professional design firms! Stantec, an ENR Top 100 Global Design Firm, provides professional design and consulting services in engineering and architecture.
Our growing San Francisco office is seeking a Plumbing Designer/Engineer, junior or intermediate, experienced in the design of building plumbing and fire protection systems design. The successful candidate will be required to produce construction plans, specifications and related reports and calculations. Sustainable design is a major focus of this practice and candidates must have an interest and a working knowledge of Green Design techniques for plumbing systems. Healthcare and laboratory design is another focus of this practice and candidates must have an interest and a working knowledge of medical gas systems and the specialized waste and water systems associated with these facilities.
Responsibilities:
Sizing and selection of plumbing and fire protection equipment and systems.
Produce complete sets of plumbing drawings and specifications
Coordination of documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Civil, HVAC, Electrical) and ability to work efficiently with General and Subcontractors
Production of design reports
Perform limited plan checking when necessary
The ability to manage and expedite multiple priorities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is desired but not required.
LEED Accredited Professional.
3-10 years mechanical design experience including plumbing and fire protection systems.
Experience creating bid document packages including drawings and specifications.
Must be proficient using AutoCad.
Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Knowledge of high performance building design and sustainability, with experience in areas such as LEED, low water use fixtures, low energy water heating and heat recovery equipment, low energy piping and pumping system design, water reuse systems, rainwater harvesting, solar thermal water heating systems and alternative wastewater systems.
Effective team player who demonstrates mature judgment and possesses a positive, team oriented attitude.
Excellent interpersonal skills with team members and clie nts.
