ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Gender Action's mission is to promote women's rights and gender
equality and ensure women and men equally participate in and benefit
from Financial Institution (FI) investments in developing countries.
Gender Action is the only dedicated global campaign holding financial
institutions accountable on the gender impacts of their investments.
We are a small, expanding, six-year old organization.
DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:
Gender Action seeks an Executive/Programs Assistant who will combine
administrative tasks with opportunities to contribute to program
research, analysis and writing. An estimated 65 percent of the work
will be administrative. The Assistant will report to the President.
INDICATIVE TASKS:
-- Co-producing Gender Action's electronic newsletter updates
-- Maintaining database
-- Circulating announcements on listserves
-- Managing publications and mailings
-- Preparing letters
-- Preparing materials for Board of Director meetings
-- Ordering and maintaining office supplies
-- Organizing conference calls
-- Organizing meetings and travel
-- Responding to public inquiries
-- Planning events
-- Managing financial matters such as paying bills and organizing
papers for audits
-- Conducting programs and fundraising research, analysis and
drafting content
-- Other duties as required.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
-- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
-- Experience using Microsoft Access and excellent IT skills
-- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
-- Capacity to meet targets and deadlines
-- Ability to work flexibly on changing priorities
-- Willingness to travel occasionally
-- Exceptional English writing and analytical skills
-- Passion for women's and broader human rights
-- Collaborative working style
-- College degree
-- US working papers.
