Sustainability Summer Camp Teacher

Start Date: May 19,2008       End Date: September 5, 2008

Time Commitment:  Training in May:  15-20 hours/week 

Camp prep and Program in June, July &August: 30-40 hours/week

Responsibilities

·      Plan for, co-teach and facilitate organic gardening and sustainable skills workshop activities during summer camp program

·      Work with program directors to plan weekly summer camp sessions and design program curriculum

·      Co-facilitate the care and supervision of camp students, including signing in students andcommunicating with parents

·  Work with garden interns on project preparation of the garden

Qualifications that will be helpful

·      Experience inoutdoor/environmental education

·      Organic gardening and/or farming experience

·      Interest in Permaculture and sustainable living

·      Experience working with children ages 6-14

·      Organization and Leadership skills

·      Ability to work independently and with others

Preference will be given to individuals with flexible schedules and extra time to contribute toward marketing the program.
