JOB DESCRIPTION:  Journalist / Writer Summer Internship in Sustainable Reporting
Rate: College Credit, Non-Paid but Traveling expenses will be covered.

LivingECHO.com is a fast growing Environmental Information & Products Site, seeks a superb, experienced Journalist to be part of our communications team, producing critical information for our Environmental Journalism Online Campus that will reach the eyes of eco-conscious students, organizations & businesses across the country.  A film crew will also follow some of the Journalist Interns on their interviews and reports for the purpose of attaching footage to their written assignments for their online content.

Program Summary
The Interns will explore their local communities and campuses to report on the capacity of their current efforts on offsetting their carbon footprint and how effective current government policies are in helping communities become more environmentally aware and responsible.
 
The internship research project is intended to result in an educational tool useful to  Universities & the Environmental Industry in the ongoing implementation of a Centralized Environmental Information Portal.

You will participating in national collaboration of at least 6 major universities.

Currently, the students will not get paid, but along with the college credit, we will pay for travel expenses, per-diem, accommodations & meals if the students are sent on assignments that are outside their immediate living area.

We have assembled a professional film crew to follow some of the Journalist Interns on their interviews and reports and their is a strong possibility we will form this into a documentary pending appropriate funding.  At the moment, the purpose of filming the interviews is to attach footage to their written assignments for their online content. 

The Journalist Intern will be expected to do some light traveling to conduct interviews, do research and attend various Environmental Conferences & Events. He or she is also expected to create written content for the several areas of Environmental Issues. This will involve hands-on communication with news organizations, businesses and Influential people across the Environmental Industry.

The students selected for the internship will work from home and will require their own personal computer or laptop.  The intern will have to work closely with the Editor on developing projects and online content that will reach eco-conscious people and students across the country.

As an intern, you will join an intensive program to help you "jump-start" your career and develop your potential for future advancement within LivingECHO or the sustainable industry.

Required Qualifications:

Strong Web Browsing Skills such as: Firefox,  Internet Explorer, Safari
Well honed production skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and, preferably, Quark)
Strong verbal and writing skills
Blogging skills a Major Plus
Strong Researching Skills
