STAFF RESEARCH
ASSOCIATE (TECHNICIAN)
A technician is sought to assist with laboratory and field
duties associated with studies of mussel connectivity in southern
California,
in the Integrative Oceanography Division, Scripps Institution of
Oceanography.
Experience with ecology, PCR, analytical chemistry and/or data
processing will
be helpful. Responsibilities will include
managing field larval outplant operations, conducting PCR on recruit
tissues to
identify species, preparing, cleaning, mounting and analyzing (via
Laser
ablation ICPMS) larval and recruit shells for chemical composition. Duties will also include general lab and
clean room maintenance. A Masters degree
or relevant experience is required.
