RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Project Development and Partnerships works closely with the Managing Director and initiative leaders to develop new business opportunities for four of our key initiatives:

  1. Our Ten-in-Ten Initiative serves to engage the world’s national governments in using the Ecological Footprint as a indicator just as they use GDP or other economic indicators;
  2. Our Cities Initiative serves to engage the world’s cities in preparing for the future;
  3. Our Human Development Initiative seeks to end poverty and preserve the world’s bio-capacity simultaneously; and
  4. Our Corporate Initiative supports global corporations in understanding how ecological pressures impact strategy and ultimately seeks to have business leaders become spokespeople on sustainability issues, adding their voices to the political debate.

Because these initiatives are based on business models that require working with partner organizations, this department director position is also responsible for developing and overseeing these important partner relationships.  In order to achieve results at the necessary scale, we seek to grow, support, and delight a tight-knit global network of Ecological Footprint practitioners and users that will work with businesses and governments to help us achieve our mission.

·        Leading the annual project development planning process in cooperation with the initiative teams,

·        Developing partnership plans and programs for each initiative that involves government or corporate client relationships,

·        Working with the communications and marketing staff to develop and produce promotional materials to reach target audiences

·        Developing strategic partnerships within each initiative,

·        Managing a web-based project development tracking system,

·        Supporting project managers in the successful delivery of projects, and the continued good relations with key partners, by engaging directly with clients in high visibility or politically sensitive projects,

·        Facilitating the development and delivery of partner training programs;
