About

Funding for the first post is now confirmed and we are recruiting. There is not a rigid job description for the post – the successful applicant(s) will demonstrate a range of managerial, technical and/or leadership skills with which to drive the project.

Working with the Executive Director you will be responsible for assisting in the development of Arcola Energy, a high profile cross-disciplinary initiative which aims to:

  • Develop Arcola as the World's First Carbon Neutral Theatre and use this to inspire rapid progress toward sustainability across the arts and charitable sectors
  • Develop educational and public awareness raising projects at Arcola Theatre for the local community, audiences and theatre practitioners
  • Build partnerships with other like-minded organisations to leverage learning and deliver joint projects
  • Develop the team and resources to support other arts and voluntary sector agencies in addressing sustainability

Requirements:

  • Significant knowledge of sustainability issues (energy, waste, policy, public engagement and technology) gained through undergraduate and/or postgraduate level study and several years of relevant employment experience with a world class organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills including experience of working in partnerships, with the general public and as part of a small highly effective team.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills - this role will require the rejection of many possible projects in order to ensure that resource is allocated with maximal effectiveness
  • Desire to be part of a high calibre team working in a friendly, supportive and demanding charitable organisation.
