Director :: CleanFish Ecological Advisory ::
CleanFish is cultivating a branded presence that represents a growing network of artisan producers who demonstrate state of the art stewardship practices that assures our customers they are getting fish you can trust™.
Increasingly, CleanFish is being asked to take steps beyond sourcing and vetting fish producers, the work of the CleanFish Sustainable Advisory. CleanFish is being asked to deliver a range of consulting services in ecological design, new aquaculture plant development, marketing assessment for producers, and a range of business and design services.
CleanFish wishes to expand professional services in accordance with the values and ethics that respects the inherent wisdom of the ecosystems in which we are make a positive difference.
The Director of the CleanFish Ecological Advisory will work with the co-founders of CleanFish, Inc. in our sourcing and vetting process by which producers become participants in the CleanFish Alliance. This position will also act as project manager including the coordination of a network of talented and proven professionals in ecological design and construction, aquaculture systems as part of an industrial ecology of food and energy services to the economic life of artisan communities.
There are a range of complex issues and constituencies in developing respectful and responsible processes to be applied to both cultivated and wild fisheries. You will be making a significant difference by the work you do.
This will be a good opportunity for hybrids: not so academic that you are satisfied with another study to be published; striking a balance between what will stretch even the well-intended producer to execute to higher standards, making constructive critique of areas for improvement, and not letting your sense of hoped for perfection be the enemy of the good. What must be done to establish the market to reward practices that will otherwise become as extinct as the species of fish we are trying to save?
It isn’t easy being green. Yet, if this was easy work, anyone could do it. Up for it?
