| I just acted upon your suggestion to remove the 'race to greenest' sentence :) (finally someone say something about it) Wibowo Sulistio 4:07 am

| Yes! That organization you edited is a toughie! As tele will take some money, I think we can just leave such listing as is and wait for the person from that organization to join WE and update it. You are of course more than welcome to tele! Wibowo Sulistio 4:18 am
|
|
| Oh, according to step 2, you need to add that organization to this group. (that being not so clear means we'll need to update the co-editing instructions). Wibowo Sulistio 4:18 am

| ... or not. Since no verification was possible, and no edits were made.... what do others think? Wibowo Sulistio 4:34 am

| I definitely can volunteer to edit .. wondering if there is a consistent 'style sheet' that we are using? I love this idea of doing the edit/update and then sending an email to the group. Deborah Phelan 6:17 pm

| Welcome Deborah! No stylesheet/template for About section of organization listing yet. Let's come up with one that's applicable across a variety of organizations. Care to start a discussion thread on this below? Oh, and when you have time, please do try the editing workflow below on any one of the listed organizations and provide your feedback. Thanks! | in attempting to update Friends of Cornona Park (below) today I ended up editing Parterships for Paks, their paret org. Made updates to PfP page. Should it be on list below? Deborah Phelan 8:26 pm
|
|
| No need to. Basically, this is a list of organizations that have not been edited the longest. It will be recycled everytime all organization on this list is edited. See "How this group works" for details. We probably will shift the focus from "oldest edited organizations" to "most viewed orgs that has not been edited the longest" Wibowo Sulistio 10:15 pm

| bowo, will comment on stylesheet after i get my feet wet in this process. right now most seems automated. more style will be an issue perhaps in AofF editing and updating where there is more original content. Deborah Phelan 9:52 am

To Edit Today [DRAFT]
We use this table and the symbols to indicate the state of editing for an organization page. By doing this we allow for others to help out in appropriate sections (those untouched yet by the first editor). Read 'How this group works' section further below for details on editing the table. Meaning of symbols:
|
o : edited / checked / added / done (should we use v instead of o?) ? : need more exploration / need further verification / possibly there somewhere (in the website or on the internet) |
>> : exist but need help with adding to WE and connecting to organization (clickable and link to relevant web page) x : non existent / not possible to do (e.g. no contact address to invite staff). |

How this group works [DRAFT... please edit as needed]
Purpose
To map and connect the organizations, people and content that help create a more just and sustainable world.
Method
As of October 15, 2008, WE has 110,119 organizations, 17,654 people, 4,728 resources, 215 events, 221 jobs.
Starting October 16, 2008, group members will be co-editing 10 of the oldest organization entries each daywhile expanding WE's database, enriching network connections, and inviting organization staff to join WE along the way.
If we can do this co-editing consistently, the end target would be to have at least 100,000 people, 100,000 resources, 50,000 events, and 25,000 jobs. All meaningfully connected.
Co-editing Instructions
- Visit the organization page, open the website or google for it.
- Edit About section as needed, add the organization to this group, write down your username in 1st edit by'. If you added an image (logo, photo) add o mark under 'Image'.
- Edit Organization Info and Areas of Focus section as needed, add o mark.
- If you add related content (resources, jobs, events, wikipages) from that organization to WE to the organization entry, add it to this group, and add the o mark.
- If you connect entities added above to the organization's Network section, add o mark under 'Network' in the table above.
- If you added the organizations to relevant groups you're a member of (not this group), add the o mark too under "Add to groups".
- Send an email to the organization notifying them of the listing in WE and inviting them to join WE and co-edit their listing. Add o mark.
- Comment and rate organizations and related content. Add o mark.
- Additions to this group other than what's described above will be removed. This is important to keep track of the group's effort as described in the beginning.
